I’m so excited ya’ll! I get to share the designs we received from Sarah, the Digital Designer at Crate and Barrel. They are beyond good! This week I’m sharing the design for my daughter’s room. Next week keep an eye out for another fab design for baby boy.
Here’s a side view of the room.
One issue I wanted help with was space planning. I wasn’t sure if I could fit a twin or a full bed in the room. She provided two renderings.
This is the full.
Here’s the twin.
Isn’t this bed gorgeous? I love the details. As you can see they both fit just fine but the major difference is floor space. Playtime is still a big thing at her age so maximizing floor space was key. When she gets older we can upgrade to a full if she wants.
In our initial conversation/emails I mentioned that I wanted to put a hanging chair in the room. I didn’t specify which one. I was looking at plenty of chairs but I hadn’t decided yet
I was pretty non-committal about everything else.
Let’s look at some specific parts of the design that I’m in love with.
This darker wall is such a good idea. The design tip was to use this bump out architectural detail to separate the space by painting it slightly darker than the rest of the room.
This mural is so bomb! It’s not something I would’ve thought to include on my own but I think its so pretty and fits the look of the room. Also, notice the garland in front of the mural. So cute!
Another nice touch is this mirror. It’s so delicate and sophisticated. Of course, it’s not super functional but it is something she can grow into.
I really like that the room can work for her as she gets older without having to change everything up. The real trick is how I was able to recreate this look. Stay tuned. It’s a nail biter!
What’s your favorite part of the room?
