I’ve seen a couple other bloggers talk about Crate & Barrel’s design services so I decided to give it a shot. Here’s why:
Reason #1: I Love Their Style
I’ve been a fan of their kids line for the longest. Back when they were The Land of Nod. Super bummed about the name change. How cute was that name? Seriously! I digress.
Style-wise I’m drawn to the whimsical and colorful nature of their offerings. Personally, the look of serious/grown up products for kids just isn’t my bag. Crate & Kids always brings the fun and functional.
Reason #2: It’s Sorta Free
You can get a mood board and basic stuff done without giving up your credit card deets. So, if you just need some help pulling some inspiration together the free option is perfect.
If you need assistance with layout and space planning there’s another option for you. They can design a 3-D layout for you using Modsy. I’ve used Modsy before so I knew how cool it would be. This option costs $99 but. . .(this is why it’s sorta free) you can use that $99 towards a purchase after your designs are delivered. Your designer will send you a code that’s good for about 2 months. This is genius marketing on their part.
Reason #3: Wide Range of Products
As I mentioned, I was primarily interested in the kids stuff at Crate & Kids. The design isn’t only from the kids line though. It incorporates pieces from their other lines as well ( Crate & Barrel and CB2).
Designers can and will source products from the other companies. They will also incorporate your own pieces if you send dimensions and pics.
I’ve really enjoyed working with my assigned designer and I’m looking forward to sharing the designs she came up with in later posts. The first up will be the design for Lady Pep’s room, then Master Ace’s room and lastly the parents’ room. I also plan on using the same designer for our dining/living room. Stay tuned the designs are BOMB!
Would you use this service?Do you think it’s a good value?
