I wrote an update post on the renovation process in Master Ace’s room. Here’s another update but with all the pretty pictures.
Master Ace’s room used to be a kitchen.
Crazy, right?
Because of this we had to figure out what to do with some pipes we couldn’t move. This resulted in some cool architectural details in his room.
Now for the pretty pics. . .
When we were working with the Digital Designer from Crate and Barrel we received some awesome 3D designs. I tried to keep pretty close to the designs. Take a look at this post and see how close we came.
Just like in Lady Pep’s room we created a reading nook. He has this low bookshelf on the wall that holds some of his favorites. It’s at a good height for him to see the books and easily reach in to pick one. This height also makes it easy for him to clean up.
After we did the professional photos I found the courage to put this cute print up. To be honest my sister put it up. Isn’t it adorable?
The big focal point and drama piece in his room is this awesome Tiny House bed. I love this bed!
In addition, I also bought a super comfy Saatva mattress. Excellent for jumping. This bed functions as both a sleep and play space. The kids jump, line toys up on the ledges, climb all over it and use the windows as pass-throughs.
The other really cool dramatic feature in his room is the ocean mural.
Also important to note, my baby boy is super into sea animals and couldn’t be more thrilled when it went up. Like obsessed!
Unique to our home, is the fact that we don’t do white ceilings. His ceiling is a light gray. Additionally, in this photo you can see his industrial looking ceiling light.
Picking a light for his room was tricky but I think this one works well with the space.
Details of note. . .
Other details of note in his room are his super fluffy shag rug. It’s a Ruggable which means it’s washable. Score!
Coupled with this super cute lion chair from Crate & Kids.
In order to hide the not so good looking radiator we got this cover. I went with a design that was reminiscent of a white picket fence. It’s such a functional piece too.
In the long run, this is a great room for him to grow up in. I’m sure we will transition into other interests but it should last a few more years.
