Our contractor is tackling the bathroom first so I thought I’d put together some inspiration images to help us narrow down what we want in this space.
Our own bathroom as inspiration
One thought was to recreate something similar to what we did in the downstairs bathroom a couple of years ago.
I love the color! It’s called Rainwater (Behr). It’s a very calming color.
The subway tile was a last minute decision. I originally wanted something more like this for the bathtub/shower area.
At the last minute we decided to do the white subway tile which is such a nice classic look. Since it’s such an inexpensive option we decided to tile most of the bathroom with it.
Additionally, the tile on the floor was also an economical choice. Even though it was a sale buy, it totally works with the rest of the space. It’s easy to keep clean and I love the look of the larger sized tiles.
The mosaic tile was a splurge and it’s just the right touch to jazz up the subway tiles and tie in the paint color.
Floating vanity
Have you seen these just about everywhere yet? They are super trendy and I thought it would be a cool piece to put in the bathroom. Depending on how much room I had I was planning to stash a small step stool underneath for the kids. F

On the dream list for the hubs are these porcelain wood like tiles. The hubs is a major fan.
Meanwhile, on my dream list is this curbless shower. Ideal for when we get into our golden years. Not to mention how much easier it would be for the kiddos.
Lastly, I adore just about everything in this photo. The scallop tiles are, like the kids say, WAVY! The fixtures are so funky fresh and fancy. Not sure how practical (water spots?) these would be in our kids’ bathroom but a girl can dream right?
