Why Kidbox?
We started using Kidbox last summer because it had baby sizes.
Subscription boxes are all the rage. Once upon a time I vowed never to use one. I like shopping for kids’ clothes way more than shopping for my clothes. I felt like subscription boxes took all the fun out of shopping. Au contraire!
Part of what led me to Kidbox was my lack of confidence with buying boy clothes. Shopping for baby girl was easy. Shopping for baby boy was more of a challenge. First of all, there are so many “chicks dig…” or “handsome little guy” type shirts. It’s tough to sift through and find something that isn’t a cheeky reference to him being a player/heart-breaker. It’s cute once in awhile but there have to be other options.
What I love about Kidbox is that they don’t do a lot of cheeky sayings. There was one “ Sup ladies” but I didn’t mind too much. It is also a great introduction to some clothing brands I wouldn’t normally consider.
The way it works
It’s super easy. First you need to complete a style quiz to identify what you want for your child. You give some basic size info and you are good to go! You can choose different sizes for top and bottom.
Avoidance much?
They ask if there is anything that your child won’t wear. Very helpful information cause you know, kids!
You also get an opportunity to select things you don’t want. Styles you don’t want and colors you don’t want. There’s also a place to set a preference for type of clothes you need. A quick personality check and a spot for any additional info.
Lastly, you get to choose what types of items you need. So during the school year you might want school clothes. If you have a bunch of events during the holidays you might ask for more dressy clothes. I personally said he needed more bottoms so he always gets a few more of those.
What’s in a typical box?
A typical box has about 6-7 pieces. Sometimes we get accessories. In his latest summer box he got the cutest pair of swim goggles. I was also super jazzed that he got socks. Who gets excited about socks? Me, cause I needed some for him and they must’ve read my mind. They are so soft!
Everything is packaged really nicely. There’s a zip bag that holds all the paperwork stuff plus some stickers and a treat for baby boy.

Here are some pieces I really liked.
The best part
As you check out a completed box you get to choose from 4 charity options to donate a completed box. I sometimes ask Lady Pep to help choose a charity as Master Ace is a bit too young for this part.
All in all I’ve been pretty satisfied with the pieces. Every now and then there is one item that isn’t my favorite but I’ve either donated it (too small towels) or learned to like it (‘sup ladies shirt).
I highly recommend!
