I’ve been obsessed with mood boards & vision boards for years ::cough:: decades? ::cough::
Once upon a time I made a book out of construction paper with cutout pictures of furniture from Pottery Barn. Sadly, I do not have photographic evidence of this book. Trust me. It was EPIC!
I firmly believe the exercise of making the book motivated me to get this house. Cut to 2018 and I can do the mood board digitally with the help of Olioboard.
SIDEBAR: I was so excited to use Olioboard but just last week they sent an email with the news that they were shutting down. So if you want to make a mood board hurry over there now before it is gone for good.
Now back to the mood board.
I used it to visualize what I had in mind for her room.
We love pink in my house. I think the Hubs has more pink shirts than baby girl. Pink had to be part of the color palette for the room. A touch of coral and mint would also be lovely.
The rug is the first piece that caught my eye. To begin with, it had the exact blend I was obsessed with. This color combo is fetch. (Can I make this a thing?) Eventually you’ll notice that I have a love for Crate & Kids. They make it so easy to coordinate and design a room. Using the rug as a centerpiece I began to collect other items for her space.
Lady Pep was fond of the dream catcher which admittedly is pretty fab. The bookcase shaped like a dollhouse is super adorable. It’s functional, it’s pretty and you can play with it. The quilt coordinates with the rug effortlessly plus….Mermaids!
One non-negotiable I had for the room was the hanging chair. An absolute must have. I wanted to create a cozy space to hang out and read. Admittedly, I will probably be hanging out in that chair as well. It is so fetch! ( Is it a thing yet?)
What non-negotiables are on your home decor/remodeling list?
*most of the items pictured are from Crate & Kids. The hanging chair is Serena & Lily
