It’s about to get the House HomeMaker treatment!
This is a great bookcase. Two generous drawers on the bottom for storage and lots of space on the shelves for books and things. There’s only one problem. . .NO Back!
Because of the moulding running along the bottom of her room the bookcase is set off and not flush to the wall. Consequently, books keep falling behind it.
There’s an easy fix. Add a back!
It just so happens that in the midst of the Great Purge and the Great Restoration we were getting rid of an old Ikea wardrobe.
You know what that wardrobe had? A BACK! Awesome sauce!
We took that back and cut it down to size to use on her bookcase. Of course it wasn’t much to look at. But Mama had a solution for that.
I’ve been looking for a reason to use removable wallpaper and this was my chance. With this in mind I went back to Chasing Paper ( I’ve been cyber stalking this website for awhile.) and let Lady Pep choose the paper she liked best for her room.
She chose this one.
All in all it was a pretty quick and easy project. The hardest part was getting the bubbles out when putting on the wallpaper. It was so quick and easy that I used some of the leftover backing to pep up the Ikea Trofast bookcases we have in the living room.
This is the wallpaper I picked out for those bookcases. Super cute right?
And the finished bookcase in Lady Pep’s room, doesn’t it look adorable?
